English professional football club from Manchester, playing in the Premier League, the highest division in the English football league system. It was founded in 1880 under the name "St. Marks (West Gorton)" (Eng. St. Mark's (West Gorton)). In 1887, it was renamed "Arduik" (Eng. Ardwick A.F.C.). Since 1894, it has been called Manchester City.
